Cancer Research Internship
University of Wisconsin's Carbone Cancer Center SCORE program, funded by the American Cancer Society, offers undergraduates a 10‑week paid, mentored research experience in cancer science. Interns gain hands‑on exposure to basic, translational, or population health research, while building skills for future careers in science and health professions. The program runs June 1- August 7, 2026 and is 32-40 hours per week.
Beyond the summer, SCORE provides monthly academic‑year engagements, career development workshops, networking opportunities, and a research symposium, with extension activities available throughout the school year.
Interns in this program:
- work in a research lab
- attend weekly lab meetings
- participate in workshops, training, and seminars for scientific enrichment
