What is a Building Automation System? B A S involves the automatic and centralized control of HVAC, Lighting, and other major building systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and responsibly utilize the Earth's energy resources.
The Automation Account Engineer (entry level position, with growth potential) will learn the business from the ground up. This position will have significant OJT (on the job training) starting with working with the Operations team to get a complete understanding of our business's means and methods. Later in the development path, you will support Outside Account staff and to promote, estimate, and propose solutions for CCI’s clients. The Automation Account Engineer will assist with pre-bid support, layout and estimating and oversee the job calendar (schedules and timeline for each project) and customer service.
The ultimate goal of this career development path is to create a succession plan for assuming the lead for critical accounts (Outside Account Engineer).
Job Duties
The initial phase (12-18 months) will involve working with the Operations team to learn the business from the ground up.
Keep aware of upcoming projects, keep up-to-date plans, specifications, addendums and bid dates for each project.
Site Survey projects as applicable with Safety First mindset
Conduct pre-bid duties including contacting general contractors, mechanical and electrical contractors/bidders as needed.
Writes required RFIs (Request for Information) and writes/generates project scope of proposals.
Perform take-offs/estimates/pricing for control systems and other equipment
Solicit pricing from Vendors & Subcontractors as part of bid packages and price change orders as necessary
Coordinates project information/handoffs/Booking Package to Operations department to
ensure a proper handoff is achieved.
Follow up with contractors and end users on bids to support customer service efforts.
Administer project booking audits to insure all information is properly posted
Attend Lunch & Learns with Engineers
Attend various tradeshows
Requirements
2+ years of sales experience – business to business, inside sales, business to customer.
Bachelor’s degree – preference to Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology.
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and HVAC concepts and operations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Mathematical abilities to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using wholenumbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and create and interpret graphs.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Organization and strong attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to pass a full background screening, sales assessment screening and drug screening
Ability to pass physical ability test
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work flexible schedule. May include occasional travel for customer meetings and trade shows
