Local Coordinator- WA and OR
CETUSA (Council for Educational Travel USA) is looking for local coordinators in Washington state and Oregon.
You must be a U.S. citizen and be at least 21 years old to apply. Must pass a criminal background check.
CETUSA is a non-profit organization that promotes international relationships through a student exchange program! We support students from all over the world who come to experience life in the U.S. with volunteer host families.
The local coordinator role is a 1099 contract position. It is mostly remote but does require in-person visits at certain points. You determine your workflow and set placement goals with your regional manager. The students and families you work with will live within 60 miles of your residence.
Local Coordinator Duties:
--Recruit host families and place international exchange students with these families
--Monitor students and families through the school year
--Complete pre-and post-arrival orientation meetings and monthly check-in reports
--Vet host families, conduct home visits and check references
--Foster positive relationships between international participants and the local community
--Help participants adjust to their new environment and ensure they have a rewarding experience
--Be the first point of contact for any issues with the student/family
--Get placement approval from local schools
Pay and Incentives:
There is no base pay for this contract position. Pay depends on how many host families you recruit and how many students you mentor (more info below). You are also paid for ongoing supervision (monthly check-ins), pre-and post-arrival orientation meetings, and can receive referral bonuses.
Placements/pay:
For 1-3 students, you earn $500 each
For 4-6 students, you earn $600 each
For 7-9 students, you earn $800 each
For 10 or more students, you earn $1000 each
CETUSA also offers travel incentives! You will earn 1 travel point for each placement you make. Once you accumulate 12 points, you earn a free trip, which we take every fall. If you earn 6 additional points, you get to take a guest along for free. Points roll over from year to year as long as you make 2 placements a year. Where do we go? In 2025, the trip was to Greece. Next fall will be Peru!
If you place 5 students by May 31st you also get a ticket to go to our local coordinator conference! The conference will be held in the Dominican Republic in 2026, at an all-inclusive resort!
Training for this position is done virtually.
