Customer Service Associate / Cashier
Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for retail sales. Bilingual abilities and experience with POS systems are a plus. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems accurately for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and merchandising setup
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
- Support in conducting product demonstrations and promotional events
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
- Assist in training new team members or supervising staff when needed
- Promote store loyalty programs and special offers to customers
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities (preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as change making and totals
- Experience in retail sales, upselling, and merchandising techniques
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of grocery store operations (nice-to-have)
- Supervising experience (preferred) for leadership roles
- Ability to conduct product demos confidently and professionally
- Strong phone etiquette for handling inquiries and customer support
