Customer Service Associate / Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing excellent customer experiences, managing transactions efficiently, and supporting store operations. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for retail sales. Bilingual abilities and experience with POS systems are a plus. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems accurately for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and merchandising setup
• Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
• Support in conducting product demonstrations and promotional events
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
• Assist in training new team members or supervising staff when needed
• Promote store loyalty programs and special offers to customers

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities (preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as change making and totals
• Experience in retail sales, upselling, and merchandising techniques
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of grocery store operations (nice-to-have)
• Supervising experience (preferred) for leadership roles
• Ability to conduct product demos confidently and professionally
• Strong phone etiquette for handling inquiries and customer support
