About the Project:
J. Davis Law Firm is developing a new documentary-style series that follows a practicing attorney through real cases, client interactions, community work, and the day-to-day life of running a law firm. This is an opportunity to help shape a unique, story-driven legal documentary from the ground up.
We are looking for a creative, hungry student videographer who wants hands-on experience and the chance to develop their own filmmaking voice.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Filming behind-the-scenes footage of a working attorney and ongoing cases (non-confidential scenes only)
Helping build storylines, arcs, and character development to keep the series compelling
Participating in brainstorming sessions on themes, tone, and overall direction
Editing short and long-form content for episodes
Assisting with planning shots, organizing footage, and shaping the narrative
Working independently and contributing fresh ideas
What We’re Looking For:
A self-starter who is creative, reliable, and invested in producing something meaningful
Strong interest in documentaries, storytelling, and character-driven narratives
Someone excited to follow a lawyer around, observe real legal work, and learn how cases unfold
Basic filming and editing skills (camera or high-quality phone acceptable)
Punctual, organized, and able to meet deadlines
Compensation:
$10.00–$14.00 per hour, based on skill and experience
Unique opportunity for co-ownership or rights partnership if the documentary becomes successful
