Are you passionate about American Sign Language and eager to inspire the next generation? Whizara is looking for enthusiastic ASL Instructors to lead engaging, hands-on morning classes for K–12 students. This opportunity is perfect for students, recent graduates, ASL or Deaf Studies majors, or anyone seeking a meaningful part-time role.

All teaching materials, lesson plans, and training are provided—just bring your energy, reliability, and love for working with kids.

About the Role

As an ASL Instructor, you will guide in-person classes that introduce students to the fundamentals of ASL and Deaf culture. Our structured curriculum makes it easy to deliver fun and interactive lessons that engage students of all grade levels.

Responsibilities

  • Teach interactive ASL lessons using our provided curriculum
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Adapt lessons for different grade levels (K–12)
  • Encourage student participation and maintain classroom engagement
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, teachers, and parents
  • Provide simple, constructive feedback on student progress
  • Arrive on time and prepared to inspire students

Who We’re Looking For

  • Passionate about ASL, communication, and education
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (any level: basic, intermediate, or advanced)
  • Comfortable working with children and youth
  • Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic
  • Strong communicators
  • Reliable with consistent transportation to North Hills, CA
  • Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus but not required
