Social Media Intern

About the Role

We're seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team remotely. This part-time position is designed for a college senior in the NYC/New Jersey area who's passionate about digital storytelling and looking to transition into a full-time role after graduation. If you have a strong creative background and want hands-on experience building engaging social media content, we want to hear from you.

 

Location & Schedule

  • Location: Remote (must be based in NYC/New Jersey area)
  • Schedule: Part-time (15-20 hours per week, flexible around class schedule)
  • Duration: Academic year with potential to convert to full-time upon graduation

 

What You'll Do

  • Create eye-catching graphics, animations, and visual content for our social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X)
  • Assist in developing and executing social media campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness
  • Capture and edit photography and video content for various platforms
  • Help maintain our social media calendar and schedule posts across multiple platforms
  • Monitor social media trends and suggest creative ways to incorporate them into our strategy
  • Engage with our online community by responding to comments and messages
  • Track analytics and provide insights on content performance
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on web content updates and digital assets
  • Contribute fresh ideas for content series and campaigns

 

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Currently a senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field
  • Background or coursework in one or more of the following: graphics/design, web development, photography, or animation
  • Portfolio demonstrating creative work (design projects, photography, animations, or personal social media content)
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices
  • Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time management abilities
  • Available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year

 

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut)
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS or other web development skills
  • Experience managing social media accounts (personal brand or for organizations/clubs)
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social)
  • Understanding of SEO and social media analytics
