Aquaponics Micro-Farm Crew and Farmers Market Representative

 

Part-time aquaponics and micro-farm worker.  Work can be scheduled for  up to 20 hours per week.  Weekend and Weekday start and stop times are flexible. Crew is expected to work 4 hours per day. 

 

Job Description

                              AQUAPONICS AND MICRO-FARM TASKS

  • Perform daily aquaponics system checks.
  • Perform daily maintenance/cleaning of the aquaponics system.
  • Feed the Fish.
  • Seed produce.
  • Seed Micro Greens.
  • Harvest Micro Greens.
  • Clean Micro Green trays.
  • Transplant from Seed Table to NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) channels.
  • Transplant from NFT channels to Grow Rafts.
  • Harvest Produce.
  • Clean the NFT channels.
  • Clean the Grow Rafts.
  • Clean the Micro Green harvester.
  • Wash Coolers.
  • Monitor plants for signs of insect activity.
  • Harvest the Kale, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Basil, Radishes, Beets and Swiss Chard.
  • Other "farm" projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Punctuality.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Clean driving record in last 2 years.
  • Ability and desire to learn the basics of the aquaponics and micro-farm operations.
  • Mobile phone with reliable network connection.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
