About the Role
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is looking for a Gardening Instructor to lead fun, hands-on outdoor learning for K–3 students. This role is perfect for college students who love nature, gardening, and working with kids. You’ll guide students through planting, garden exploration, and seasonal care, helping them build curiosity, confidence, and a connection to the natural world.


What You’ll Do

Lead garden-based lessons and hands-on outdoor activities

Teach simple plant care: planting, watering, and soil exploration

Introduce basic environmental concepts: plants, insects, weather, and ecosystems

Guide kids through fun activities like seed planting, garden crafts, and observation

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive outdoor learning environment

Prepare tools and materials and coordinate with program staff as needed


What We’re Looking For

Experience working with young children (K–3 preferred)

Interest or background in gardening, nature, or environmental education

Comfortable leading outdoor, hands-on activities

Strong communication, creativity, and classroom management skills

Available Monday–Friday during school hours (3–6 hrs/week)

Reliable transportation to San Francisco program sites

Must pass a background check and complete onboarding
