Social Media Intern

About Your Role:

As the Social Media Intern, you'll dedicate 20 hours a week to assist with the design and production of the publication’s four social channels. You will use your impeccable communication and organizational skills, background in research and reporting, and passion for graphic design and content creation to garner a following and increase publication subscriptions. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and schedule original content for Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and LinkedIn based on trending topics and content performance
  • Research and report original ideas for editorial-style social posts
  • Design fun and motivational on-brand images and graphics
  • Generate short, witty content captions and strategic hashtags
  • Assist with multimedia promotion for website and social channels
  • Manage influencer relations and brainstorm call-to-action campaigns to encourage follows and subscriptions
  • Test and review products, represent the brand at in-person events, and act as brand representation on social
     

Requirements:

  • Must be studying journalism or a related field and be well-versed in AP Style (Graduates in related fields also welcome)
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a basic understanding of Canva or PicMonkey
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple projects, and meet critical deadlines
