& E-COMMERCE INTERN
The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine.
The Merchandising and E-Commerce Intern will assist with retail initiatives supporting museum brick-and-mortar gift shops and its online retail presence. The Retail Merchandising, Product Development & E-Commerce Intern supports the retail operations of the National Comedy Center and Lucy Desi Museum gift shops with a focus on creative product development, online retail presence, and in-person merchandising. This position provides hands-on experience in both the physical and digital sides of museum retail, working closely with the retail and marketing teams.
This internship will be on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with merchandising, displays, and product organization in museum gift shops.
- Support product development projects – from concept to display – in collaboration with the Graphic Design team and vendors.
- Contribute to e-commerce initiatives, including product listings, SEO updates, and online shop management.
- Assist in coordinating Lucille Ball Comedy Festival and Block Pary related retail efforts.
- Assist in inventory tracking, vendor communications, and product rollouts.
- Provide input on digital marketing assets and campaigns to promote retail products.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- This internship is ideal for students majoring in Business Management, Accounting, Hospitality, and Marketing/Communications.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week; hours are flexible.
- All interns must complete at least 4 hours each week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge.
- Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor.
- Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon acceptance.
