Information Technology Intern
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND EXHIBIT SUPPORT INTERN
The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine.
The IT Support Intern will assist the Information Systems team to support and enhance the National Comedy Center’s technical and operational systems. The intern will also play a key role in supporting ticketing operations during the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.
This internship is on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining the exhibit technology of the National Comedy Center.
- Become an intermediate user of our ticketing and point of sale system to assist other users with various functions of the system.
- Contribute to the documentation library.
- Organize and maintain IT resources.
- Interpret, analyze, and produce data sets for various departments to create reports.
- Participate in weekly check-in meetings with the National Comedy Center, and Comedy Festival team meetings and activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be pursuing a career in computer science, information technology, or data science; Business administration students may be considered as well.
- Ability to identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong writing and communication skills required.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week; hours are flexible.
- All interns must complete at least 4 hours each week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge.
- Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor.
- Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon acceptance.
