Research Assistant

Position Overview:
Seeking a dedicated undergraduate student to join our research team as a Federal Work-Study Research Assistant. This position offers hands-on experience contributing to neurodiversity and inclusion research within Black communities, with opportunities for meaningful engagement in culturally responsive research practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Conduct literature reviews on neurodiversity, autism, and inclusion in Black communities using academic databases
Support data collection, organization, and preliminary analysis
Help prepare research summaries, reports, and presentations
Assist with participant recruitment and community engagement efforts
Maintain accurate research documentation and databases
Attend weekly lab meetings and contribute to team discussions

Minimum Qualifications:

Junior standing (completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework)
Enrolled undergraduate student eligible for Federal Work-Study
Strong written communication skills with ability to synthesize research findings
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience using research search engines (Google Scholar, EBSCO, PsycINFO, or similar databases)
Interest in neurodiversity, autism research, and/or community-based research
Commitment to culturally responsive and equity-focused research

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior research experience
Coursework in psychology, education, or related fields

Time Commitment:
8-10 hours per week during the academic year, with flexible scheduling around classes.
