Project Engineer

Project Engineer – Engineering

Pay Range: $85,000 – $95,000 (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time
Travel Required: Yes
Locations: West Sacramento, CA + additional CA sites

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will support the full lifecycle of our architectural and structural precast concrete projects — from design through manufacturing and field erection. This role is ideal for new graduates with an engineering background who want to gain broad experience in structural design, construction engineering, project management, and field operations.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, production, field operations, and project management teams to deliver safe, high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Design Phase

Prepare and review submittal drawings, including:

floor plans, elevations, material specs, reinforcing details, connection details, panel details

Support design approvals and coordination

Assist with reinforcement drawings and miscellaneous metal detailing

Manufacturing / Production Phase

Produce complete shop drawings for panel and structural elements

Support formwork designs, form change studies, and yard handling studies

Ensure timely procurement of materials, lifting hardware, rigging components, inserts, and brackets

Maintain casting schedules and perform quality checks

Participate in start-up meetings with manufacturing and stay involved throughout project execution

Field / Erection Phase

Prepare crane studies, rigging diagrams, erection plans, and load lists

Coordinate shipment of materials and field manpower needs

Support fall protection planning and field safety considerations

Attend job sites to support erection operations and verify quality and performance

General Project Management

Monitor project performance to specs, budget, and schedule

Identify issues early, help develop solutions, and escalate when needed

Coordinate technical submittals (welding, grouting, post-tensioning, etc.)

Work collaboratively with internal teams across the company

Education & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field (required)

EIT certification (preferred, not required)

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Interest in structural systems, construction, and project engineering

Ability to work onsite and travel as needed
