The Royal Oak Leprechauns are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Royal Oak, Michigan, competing in the Northwoods League. The Leprechauns are known for competitive baseball, strong community involvement, and professional development opportunities for players and staff. Each season, the organization offers a hands-on, growth-focused experience in a fun and fast-paced sports environment.

 

Position Overview

The Broadcast Producer (Contractor) will oversee all aspects of live video production for Royal Oak Leprechauns home games. This role is ideal for a college student or recent graduate who is looking to gain experience in a leadership role overseeing the full game-day production.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical production of all Royal Oak Leprechauns home game broadcasts

     
  • Manage the setup, operation, and teardown of all broadcast equipment

     
  • Direct graphics for all multi-camera home broadcasts, ensuring smooth visuals and high production quality

     
  • Coordinate with the play-by-play team and league/media officials to maintain broadcast standards

     
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time during live streams

     
  • Train and supervise game-day staff/interns assisting with camera operation, graphics, and scoreboard integration

     
  • Maintain and update graphics packages, overlays, and sponsor elements

     
  • Collaborate with the content and social media team to produce highlight reels and promotional clips

     
  • Assist in postgame media uploads and video archiving for team and league use
     

Requirements

  • Experience in live production, broadcasting, or related media roles

     
  • Strong understanding of live streaming platforms, broadcast software, and production workflows

     
  • Hands-on experience with camera operation, audio mixing, and graphic integration preferred

     
  • Ability to manage a small production team on game days

     
  • Creative problem-solving skills and composure under pressure

     
  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities, especially in a fast-paced game environment

     
  • Baseball knowledge and prior experience in sports production preferred
     

Contract Details

  • Seasonal contract position (Northwoods League season)

     
  • Game-day and select non-game-day hours required

     
  • Compensation to be discussed based on experience and availability

     
  • Free meals after every home game and select road games
