POSITION: Special Education Paraeducator

Full-Time: 35 hours per week


Putnam Elementary School is looking for a caring, flexible, and dependable Special Education Paraeducator to join our team, specifically supporting students within a specialized program. This full-time role is crucial in empowering elementary students with diverse and often intensive learning needs, helping them navigate their academic, social, and emotional growth in a structured and supportive environment.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support elementary students with diverse learning needs, providing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assistance.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and specialists to implement instructional and behavioral plans.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students as directed by certified staff.
  • Adapt to evolving student needs and assist with classroom activities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment OR at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution.  
  • Experience working in a school system is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, showing patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to follow directions from certified staff, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and ensure confidentiality at all times.


START DATE: Immediate Opening

RATE OF PAY: $19.67 - $21.74 per hour
* based on contractual requirements
