Communications & Media Intern

Communications & Media Intern (Spring Semester)
Location: Downtown Nashville, TN (on-site) 
Hours: 15–20 per week, flexible 
Pay: $15 an hour 
Start Date: January 21 
Deadline to Apply: December 1

Position Summary: TennGreen, a 501(c)(3) non-profit which works to conserve land to allow nature and people to thrive, seeks an enthusiastic, hard-working intern to support our communication and marketing efforts. Typical tasks include supporting digital content creation and social media engagement, brand design, and organizing media assets. This is a hands-on internship ideal for students interested in communications, public relations, digital media, or nonprofit marketing.

Primary Responsibilities:
●Assist with creating and scheduling social media content.
●Support audience engagement eff orts across Facebook and Instagram.
●Produce simple branded graphics, illustrations, and GIF/sticker assets.
●Assist with proofreading and updating digital content.
●Collect quotes/testimonials from participant submissions.
●Organize and label photo assets; maintain campaign photo folders.
●Help promote TennGreen events on regional event calendars.
●Support communications needs for campaigns like the Hike-a-Thon.
●Perform additional communications tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
● Enrolled in a Nashville-area college program (Communications, PR, Journalism,    Marketing, Graphic Design, or related).
● Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
● Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
● Experience with Google Workspace and Canva (or similar tools).
● Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
● Must have a personal laptop.

Work Environment: This position is office-based from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., with occasional off-site meetings and events.

● Experience in digital communications and non-profit marketing.
● Training in brand management and visual asset organization.
● Opportunities to build portfolio pieces.
● Mentorship and exposure to professional communications workflows.
