Part-Time Video Editor

Job Description

Job Overview:
We’re looking for a creative and motivated Part-Time Video Editor to help bring our Local Syracuse content to life across multiple platforms. This role involves on-site shooting/production, as well as editing both short-form and long-form video content.

Responsibilities:

Edit short-form, vertical videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts (60–90 seconds).

Edit long-form, horizontal videos optimized for YouTube (5–20 minutes), including vlogs and IRL-style content.

Support on-site recordings across the Syracuse, NY area.

Collaborate on creative ideas to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

Ensure all videos are optimized for each specific platform.

Required Experience & Skills:

Beginner to intermediate video editing and production experience; expert-level skills are a plus.

Proficiency in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.

Basic understanding of editing, recording, creative angles, on-site production, etc.

Passion and Interest in Syracuse, NY culture, restaurants, bars, events, shows, businesses, etc.

Compensation:

The role will begin with a few test projects (short-form and long-form) to assess fit and style.

Fixed stipends will be discussed and set after the trial period.

Additional Information:

Flexible, part-time commitment.
