Data Analysis Intern
The National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) is seeking a Data Analysis Intern to support the NCEO’s research and data initiatives. The intern will assist with collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data related to employee ownership, corporate performance, and workforce outcomes. This position offers hands-on experience in applied social science and business research, exposure to large national datasets, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that inform public policy and business practice.
The intern will work closely with the Senior Researcher and Data Analyst and collaborate with other members of the research team for a duration of six months.
About the NCEO
The NCEO is a private nonprofit organization devoted to advancing employee ownership—the practice of employees owning a share of the company they work for. Our mission is to help employee ownership thrive: Through events, networking, consulting, and research, we help employee-owned companies succeed while educating companies, policymakers, and the public about the benefits of employee ownership. We do not maintain an office space and all staff work remotely.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current senior undergraduate or graduate student in sociology, political science, statistics, economics, business, public policy, data science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Experience with Excel and at least one statistical software package (SPSS, R, Stata, or Python) - Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong written, in-person, and phone/Zoom communication skills.
Preferred:
- Coursework or previous experience in research methods or data analysis.
- Experience working with survey platforms (Qualtrics, Surveymonkey).
- Experience creating data visualizations or working with large datasets.
Compensation
The compensation for this internship is $25.00 per hour. Temporary and part-time position for a 6-month period, with a time commitment of 10-20 hours a week.

Remote work
