2026 Watershed Management Research and Outreach Internship
University of Illinois Extension is seeking an undergraduate student intern to join the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy Outreach Team for Summer 2026.
Key Details:
- Duration: 12 weeks (late May – mid-August)
- Eligibility: Any degree-seeking student who has completed at least one year of higher education
- Compensation: Paid full-time position at $15/hour, plus up to $1,000 travel reimbursement (Illinois interns receive higher hourly pay and no subsistence stipend)
- Application Deadline:Sunday, November 30 at 11:59 PM CT
- Notification: Candidates will be notified by the end of January
Interns will gain hands-on experience in watershed management, participate in a regional virtual cohort, and attend an in-person student learning summit. Please note, fieldwork may involve long days in hot or adverse conditions. Regional cohort internship opportunities are available at the University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Iowa State University, South Dakota State University, and the University of Missouri.
