Location: In-person (NYC area)
Position Overview
Wayne Daniel, CPA is seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) professional to support CPA-led lead development, small business relationship building, and community-facing outreach initiatives. This role is designed to directly support firm growth by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing relationships with small business owners who require accounting, tax, payroll, and advisory services.
This is a relationship-driven role, not a traditional marketing position. The successful candidate will act as a front-facing representative of the firm, working closely with the CPA to develop a strong pipeline of qualified small business clients.
Core Responsibilities
1. CPA Leads Development
- Conduct outbound and inbound outreach to prospective small business clients via phone, email, referrals, walk-ins, and community events.
- Qualify leads by identifying business type, size, service needs, and readiness for CPA services.
- Maintain accurate lead records, notes, and follow-up activity in the firm’s CRM or tracking system.
- Schedule consultations and prepare prospect summaries for the CPA prior to meetings.
- Track lead progression from initial contact through conversion to paying client.
2. Small Business Relationship Development
- Build and maintain relationships with local entrepreneurs, startups, and small business owners.
- Represent the firm at networking events, chambers of commerce, community workshops, and small business fairs.
- Clearly communicate the firm’s service offerings, pricing approach, and onboarding process.
- Support client retention initiatives through periodic check-ins, follow-ups, and service reminders.
3. Marketing & Community Outreach Support
- Assist in drafting, translating, and distributing bilingual (English/Spanish) outreach materials, including flyers, email campaigns, and event promotions.
- Support social media and community-based campaigns focused on tax season, deadlines, and small business education.
- Coordinate with community organizations, nonprofits, and referral partners to increase firm visibility.
- Gather feedback from prospects and clients to support messaging and outreach improvements.
4. Administrative & Client Onboarding Support
- Assist with new client onboarding by collecting required documentation and coordinating next steps.
- Prepare basic client information packets, engagement letters, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records related to leads and client interactions.
- Provide general administrative support related to business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Driver’s License (required).
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with business owners and conducting outreach conversations.
- Prior experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or community engagement preferred.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently in a small firm environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or lead tracking tools is a plus.
Compensation
- Base pay at New York State minimum hourly wage, in compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.
- Commission-based compensation structured on a draw against commission, with commissions earned on qualified leads that convert to paying CPA clients.
- The draw provides consistent base earnings while commissions are earned and reconciled based on performance.
- Additional earning opportunities may be available during peak tax season based on results and overall contribution.
Who Will Succeed in This Role
- Individuals who enjoy relationship-building and face-to-face engagement.
- Self-starters motivated by measurable results and client conversion.
- Candidates comfortable operating in a hands-on, small business environment.
- Communicators who can clearly articulate value and build trust with small business owners.
This role offers growth exposure to small business operations, client advisory services, and CPA practice development while contributing directly to firm revenue and community presence.
