Luxury Ambassador

Role Overview

A Luxury Shopping Ambassador is a guest-facing retail and brand representative who works onboard cruise ships, partnering with world-renowned luxury retailers in port. Ambassadors educate, engage, and guide cruise guests toward premium shopping experiences, hosting presentations and acting as a trusted advisor for high-value purchases such as fine jewelry, watches, and luxury goods.

This role blends public speaking, sales, hospitality, and brand storytelling and is considered one of the highest-earning and most sought-after guest-facing positions at sea.

 

Daily Responsibilities

  • Host engaging presentations and briefings for cruise guests, introducing luxury brands and shopping destinations available in port
  • Educate guests on products such as fine jewelry, watches, and luxury goods in a clear, confident, and compelling way
  • Build rapport with guests and provide personalized recommendations based on their interests and needs
  • Collaborate closely with onboard teams and onshore luxury retail partners
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing partner retailers and the cruise line with professionalism and polish
  • Drive guest engagement and sales performance, earning commission on purchases made through your recommendations
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and stay up to date on featured brands and destinations

 

Typical Work Environment

  • Based onboard an international cruise ship, traveling to multiple global destinations
  • Fast-paced, guest-facing environment with a strong focus on service, presentation, and professionalism
  • Work includes a mix of scheduled presentations, guest interaction, and time in port
  • Dynamic and multicultural workplace, interacting with guests and colleagues from around the world

 

Required / Preferred Qualifications

Required or Strongly Preferred:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence speaking in front of groups and engaging one-on-one with guests
  • Background in sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, or guest-facing roles
  • Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Willingness and ability to live and work onboard a cruise ship for extended contracts

 

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in luxury retail, fine jewelry, watches, or premium brands
  • Performance, hosting, or public speaking experience
  • Multilingual abilities
  • Interest in travel, luxury brands, and global cultures
