Student Ministry Intern

What is the goal?
- The goal of this internship is to provide college students with a “boots on the ground” look at what ministry feels like on a day to day basis, and to provide experiences for connecting with students, practicing discipleship, collaborating with other church staff, and growing as someone who desires to serve in vocational ministry.

What you should know:
- This internship focuses on Student Ministry and specific areas of focus are based on giftings, experience, or passions
- 10 weeks with a $4,000 stipend
- Housing is provided through church host families
- Estimated duration of June 1st, 2026 through August 6th, 2026

What it will look like:
- Spiritual Growth
- Learn different forms of personal devotionals
- Experience a Soul Care Day to learn the practice of rest & retreat in ministry
- Receive weekly mentorship by staff members of gsYOUTH
- Learning Program
- Read two books related to Church Ministry
- Connect with church leaders from other departments to learn about the different elements of working in a church, with a staff, with people, and for the glory of God.
- Ministry Experience
- Help lead a Middle School mission trip with a team of volunteers in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
- Develop and teach 3 different devotionals
- Connect with students outside of the office on a weekly basis
- Help plan and lead gsYOUTH events throughout the Summer

At the end of the internship, you will be able to:
- Effectively plan and lead a Youth event, including a local mission trip
- Prepare and lead an in-depth Bible study
- Disciple students with care and compassion
- Understand the importance of balance in ministry (receiving and giving)
- Write lessons for students of varying age groups
- Recognize and appreciate how an organization, like gracespring Bible Church, works between staff and departments
