RUYES Summer Internship

Rutgers Youth Enjoy Science (RUYES) Summer 2026 Paid Internship

  • 2 YEAR COMMITMENT 
  • APPROX. 30 HOURS each SUMMER ‘26 & ’27
  • Approximately 6 hours/month during the academic year

Welcome to the Rutgers Youth Enjoy Science summer internship, where the journey of academic excellence and personal growth continues!

 

WHAT TO EXPECT AS PART OF RUYES:

  • Engage in research for 9-10 weeks during two consecutive summers, (2026 and 2027)
  • Receive professional development and training in Topics of Cancer Biology, Laboratory Skills, and Career Development.
  • Present your research findings at an Annual Research Symposium.
  • Receive compensation for time and limited funds are available to support temporary housing or transportation OR parking.

Who Is Eligible?

To be eligible for the RUYES program a student must be:

  • A rising sophomore/junior undergraduate
     
  • A citizen or permanent resident (green-card holder) of the United States
     
  • Willing to commit to two full years of participation in the program
     
  • Highly motivated and academically able to pursue a career in biomedical/cancer science
     
  • Must attend a school or university in the Tri-state area (NJ, NY, PA, CT). 
     
  • Must be able to commute/live within reasonable distance of Rutgers Cancer Institute (New Brunswick, NJ)
     
  • All applicants accepted to the RUYES Program, must be vaccinated as per Rutgers Policy. Further information can be found here.
