Student Social Media Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Represent HRL in a positive and professional way in all interactions.
- Uphold and enforce university branding through IU Indianapolis Housing and Residence Life video content.
- Assist with large-scale recruitment campaigns by creating various photo and video communication materials.
- Capture and edit photo and video content for HRL events, campaigns, and digital signage.
- Interface with Loomly, Basecamp and other IU Indianapolis based project management platforms.
- Collaborate with Residential Operations, Facility Operations, and Residence Life to ensure effective video communication and branding.
- Schedule filming times and set locations with interviewees.
- Meet weekly with direct supervisor for project review and development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Social media experience.
- Knowledge of photo/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
- Basic knowledge of Canva for simple graphic overlays in photos/videos.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong critical-thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Requirements
- IU Indianapolis student.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be in good academic and judicial standing.
- Minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA (or be a first-semester student).
- Must be able to work between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday, with some weekend or evening hours as business needs determine.
- Reliable personal transportation (to events, occasional office visits).

Time Commitment
Must work about 10–20 hours per week but will not be scheduled for more than 20 hours per week regularly. Preference will be given to students available to extend their employment to work through the summer.
