Media and Marketing Intern — OffCampusReview

Remote / Campus-Based · Unpaid (with growth opportunities)

About OffCampusReview

OffCampusReview helps students make smarter housing decisions through verified, student-written reviews of off-campus landlords and properties. Think RateMyProfessor, but for where you live. Our mission is to bring transparency, accountability, and fairness to student housing — and we’re building it with students, for students.

Role Overview

We’re looking for creative, driven students to join us as Media and Marketing Intern — people who can translate the student housing experience into relatable, engaging, campus-focused content. Your work will help introduce OCR to thousands of students and shape how your entire campus understands its housing options.

This role is ideal for students who love filming, editing, storytelling, on-camera content, or capturing authentic student moments. If you’re someone who understands campus culture, trends, and how students actually think, you’ll thrive here.

Your content directly influences OCR’s growth, visibility, and trust. If it performs well, you’ll have real, measurable achievements to put on your resume and strong references from our team.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Produce short-form videos (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) about housing experiences, campus life, and OCR awareness
  • Capture authentic student stories, interviews, and real opinions about off-campus living
  • Create skits, trends, humor, and relatable content that feels native to your campus culture

Creative Strategy & Collaboration

  • Pitch new content ideas, scripts, and on-campus concepts
  • Work with our team to align content with OCR campaigns and review drives
  • Brainstorm unique hooks, trends, or storytelling angles specific to your school

Campus Engagement

  • Film during relevant campus events, outreach days, and OCR tabling sessions
  • Visit common student areas to get real, spontaneous reactions or testimonials
  • Help identify moments on your campus that would make strong content

Insight & Analytics

  • Share feedback on what type of content students at your campus engage with the most
  • Suggest new strategies based on performance and trends
  • Help refine OCR’s creative direction using real campus insight

What You’ll Gain

Hands-On Creative Experience

  • Real-world experience in video production, editing, and social media marketing
  • A portfolio of campus-specific content you can showcase to employers
  • Practice in scripting, filming, directing, and storytelling

Career Credibility

  • Real metrics behind your work (views, engagement, conversions, growth impact)
  • Strong, data-backed recommendation letters highlighting your creative results
  • Opportunities to grow into roles in creative direction, marketing, or social media as OCR expands

Startup Collaboration

  • Direct experience working with a fast-growing, student-led startup
  • A voice in shaping how OCR presents itself across dozens of campuses
  • Support and mentorship from our team if you want to go deeper into creative work

Who We’re Looking For

  • Creative-minded student with interest in videography, editing, or social storytelling
  • Comfortable filming and talking to students on campus
  • Understands trends, campus humor, and what catches attention
  • Reliable, communicative, and eager to build something meaningful
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys creating content that resonates with peers

Time Commitment

  • ~2–4 hours per week (flexible and project-based)
  • Occasional coordination with the OCR team
  • Additional filming time during peak campaigns or on-campus events
