SUBSTITUTE TEACHER: 

Genesee Community Charter School Flour City Campus is a public charter school in Rochester, New York educating children in kindergarten through sixth grade. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The classroom teacher is responsible for creating, enriching, and maintaining a dynamic classroom environment using the GCCS instructional structures that are rooted in EL practices. Grade level Learning Expeditions focused on the history of Rochester, serve as the GCCS primary curriculum.  Learning expeditions are built by teachers and an interdisciplinary instructional team using the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards that employ pedagogical practices that ensure high levels of student engagement and performance. This position supports the mission of GCCS and the EL practices and principles.

Substitute Teaching Assistant:

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY; Teaching Assistants at the GCCS take on a variety of roles. The Teaching Assistant (TA)supports the classroom teacher(s) and to facilitate the smooth operation of the classroom and school. TAs support the educational program, classroom management strategies, and the social emotional activities the school engages in including Crew Community Circle meetings. Teaching Assistants also support student learning by providing focused assistance to individuals and small groups. In addition, TAs support serving breakfast and lunch meals on a daily basis.
