Music Instructor (Piano, Strings, or Multi-Instrument) – $40/hr

About Hope Music Studios

Hope Music Studios is a growing private lesson studio serving families in Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Encinitas, Mira Mesa, and online. We specialize in high-quality private lessons, in-home instruction, and creating a warm, encouraging learning environment for young musicians.

We are looking for reliable, positive, and passionate music teachers who love working with kids and want a stable part-time position during the school year.

Position Overview

Teach private music lessons (30, 45, or 60 minutes) to students ages 5–18. Lessons take place in students’ homes or via Zoom, depending on your availability.

This role is ideal for:

Music majors

Music education students

Recent grads

Working musicians looking for consistent teaching income

Teachers with strengths in piano, strings, or multiple instruments

You teach — we handle billing, scheduling, curriculum, and all admin.

Pay

$40/hour
(Paid by the minute based on lesson length — e.g., 30 min = $20, 45 min = $30)

Paid monthly.
Independent Contractor role.

Schedule

Part-time (5–15 hours/week depending on your availability)

Consistent weekly schedule Sept–May

Optional summer lesson teaching

Optional summer camp teaching opportunities

We work around your classes and performance commitments.

Responsibilities

Teach weekly private lessons to assigned students

Communicate clearly and positively with parents and students

Track attendance and submit brief lesson notes

Maintain punctuality and professionalism

Follow studio teaching structure (training provided)

Qualifications

Strong musical proficiency (piano, strings, guitar/ukulele, or voice)

Prior teaching or tutoring experience (preferred, not required)

Enjoy working with children and teens

Reliable transportation for in-home lessons

Ability to commit through the school year

Clean background check
