Campus Testing Internship
The Role
You'll spend ten weeks inside the machine with us — seeing how DormWay keeps students from discovering assignments at midnight. This isn't a lecture series. It's paid, structured work testing a production system across real campuses. You're helping us prove January launch works everywhere, not just at Michigan.
Why This Exists
DormWay is the deadline safety net for college. To ship something students can trust on day one, we run every feature through ten different campuses, workflows, and syllabi. This program gives us confidence the safety net holds everywhere.
What You'll Do
Weekly Sessions — Join learning reviews where we break down architecture, design tradeoffs, and why certain bugs matter more than others.
Active Testing — Use real internal tools, identify issues in test builds, reproduce edge cases before they cascade.
Observe Real Engineering — Watch us turn "this is broken" into "fixed and deployed" in hours, not weeks.
Pre-Launch Work — Stress-test flows, run regression passes, make sure hundreds of thousands of deadlines won't slip through in January.
Hands-on, supervised work. You're testing and learning, not carrying production responsibility.
What You'll Learn
Agentic Coding Tools — The exact prompts and pipelines we use to stay current.
Testing & Analysis — How to isolate issues, document reproducible cases, understand deadline-risk tradeoffs.
Small-Team Velocity — How two people ship for 6,200+ campuses.
Real Decision-Making — What we prioritize when everything feels important, why some fixes ship instantly while others wait.
Time Commitment
Mon (30 min) — Weekly kickoff
Wed (30 min) — Office hours: debugging, architecture, Q&A
Fri (async) — Drop test observations in Slack
Weekends (optional) — Engineering streams
Bi-weekly (60 min) — All-hands for new features
5 hours/week, paid at $20/hr = $1,000 total over 10 weeks

How Selection Works
First 10 qualified applicants. Applications open Nov 14, close when filled or November 28. Rolling cohorts every 10 weeks after initial program.
Employment: Part-time W-2 employee, paid bi-weekly.
Why Apply
If you want to see how actual product teams operate — the tradeoffs, the reasoning, the messy parts — this gives you a backstage pass. By January, you'll know exactly how a campus-scale system goes from "we hope this works" to "we're confident it will."
This is where we make launch week feel calm instead of chaos.
