The Office of Legal Services (OLS) provides comprehensive legal support and services to the CDPH programs and leadership to advance CDPH’s mission to optimize the health and safety of all Californians. OLS is comprised of five teams: the Center for Health Care Quality (CHCQ) team; the Operations and Administrative Litigation (OPAL) team; the Public Health Programs (PHP) team; Regulations, Privacy and Special Projects team; and an Administration team. This position is for the Administration team.

The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) serves as the Personnel Liaison (PL) and Attendance Coordinator (AC) for the OLS. The AGPA will perform the more responsible, varied, and complex analytical staff services assignments by providing consultative and technical services to OLS management on a variety of the OLS’s personnel support issues upon consultation with the Human Resources Division (HRD). The AGPA independently develops personnel documents and provides direct support to OLS management, including the Deputy Director and Chief Counsel, Assistant Chief Counsels, the Chief of Operations, and the Chief of Regulations, on a broad spectrum of administrative assignments
The AGPA works under the direction of the OLS Chief of Operations, Staff Services Manager II (SSM II) of the Administrative Team.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. The salary ranges shown on this job posting do not reflect the salary reduction.
