Director Education Research Inservice Center
The College of Education and Human Sciences (COEHS) at the University of North Alabama is seeking applications for the position of Director of the Northwest Alabama Education Research and Inservice Center (ERIC). This position provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and accountability for the center and its programs and services. The role advances high-quality, professional learning for P–12 educators and leaders across Northwest Alabama in collaboration with school districts, the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE), and the COEHS. The Director partners with districts to identify needs; coordinates and evaluates center programs and services; ensures fiscal integrity and compliance; and supports college recruitment and retention efforts.
*This position is a grant-funded position and continuation of employment is contingent upon funding by the sponsoring agency.* Salary is dependent upon education and experience relative to the position requirements and corresponding placement on the State Salary Matrix for RIC Directors.
Minimum qualifications include a completed doctorate is preferred; master’s degree in education is required; five (5) years of highly successful school- or system-level instructional leadership experience is required; three (3) years of P–12 classroom teaching experience is required; experience supervising professional staff and coordinating multi-program budgets, preferred; prior leadership with state or regional professional learning initiatives (e.g., AMSTI, ASIM, ATIM) or comparable programs, preferred; a current, valid, and unencumbered Alabama Professional Educator Certificate or comparable educator license from any US state or territory is required; and a current, valid driver’s license is required.
