Community Relations Intern — OffCampusReview
Remote / Campus-Based · Unpaid (with growth opportunities)
About OffCampusReview
OffCampusReview helps students make smarter housing decisions by providing verified, student-written reviews of off-campus landlords and properties. Think RateMyProfessor, but for where you live. Our mission is to bring transparency, accountability, and fairness to student housing — and we’re building it with students, for students.
Role Overview
We’re looking for outgoing, driven students to represent OffCampusReview at your university. As a Community Relations Intern, you’ll help introduce our platform to your campus through conversations, tabling, partnerships, and creative outreach. You’ll be the face of OCR at your school and play a key role in our campus rollout strategy.
This is a highly visible role with opportunities to organize budgeted events, build community support, and work closely with a fast-growing startup. It’s hands-on, resume-worthy experience that actually matters.
What You’ll Do
Campus Awareness & Outreach
- Share OffCampusReview with peers through conversations, class group chats, student org chats, and on-campus meetups
- Host or participate in small budgeted events (tabling, giveaways, pop-ups, QR code campaigns, etc.)
- Help run “Review Drives” to collect the first wave of honest housing reviews for your campus
Marketing & Creative Promotion
- Post and share OCR content in relevant student communities
- Develop creative ways to embed OCR into campus culture
- Identify trends or memes that could help our reach
Partnerships & Networking
- Build relationships with student organizations, clubs, and housing-related groups
- Coordinate with RA’s, student governments, and off-campus offices when relevant
- Act as the primary contact for OCR at your campus
Team Communication
- Check in weekly with the core team
- Share feedback, insights, and general campus sentiment
- Report progress with kindness and transparency as part of a supportive “startup family” culture
What You’ll Gain
Real Startup Experience
- Work directly with three founders — one is a CPA and another is a CS graduate who’s genuinely cracked at building this platform
- Learn how grassroots growth works at an early stage startup
- Build leadership, marketing, communication, and project management skills
Career Benefits
- A standout resume line that’s better than most campus roles
- Strong, detailed recommendation letters based on your performance
- Potential to advance into manager/lead roles or join our team long term
Personal Perks
- Free OCR merch, swag, and event budgets
- Priority for future paid roles
- Supportive mentorship — we genuinely care about your professional growth
Who We’re Looking For
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking to other students
- Organized, reliable, and self-motivated
- Creative thinker with an interest in marketing or community building
- Someone who wants hands-on experience and likes building something meaningful
Time Commitment
- ~2–4 hours per week (flexible with exams and breaks)
- Occasional short meetings with the OCR team
- Participation in campus-wide outreach during peak periods
