General Management Intern
Position Overview
Energy Efficiency Investments (EEI) is seeking a motivated General Management Intern to support our business operations and project teams within the energy performance contracting industry. This internship provides exposure to the full lifecycle of energy efficiency and infrastructure improvement projects including business development, project coordination, financial tracking, and cross-functional team support.
Interns will gain hands-on experience working alongside our management, engineering, and construction teams to support real initiatives that drive sustainability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with day-to-day coordination and communication across departments
Support business development tasks such as market research, proposal prep, and client materials
Participate in budgeting, financial tracking, and operational performance analysis
Help prepare internal summaries, dashboards, and project documentation
Gather data and conduct basic analysis for decision-making support
Attend meetings and track key follow-ups and action items
Assist with workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate project files, logs, and documentation
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams as needed
Conduct research on industry trends and energy program opportunities
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Valid driver’s license and transportation for site visits (if applicable)
Interest in energy efficiency, sustainability, or project management
Learning Outcomes:
Exposure to business operations within a design-build energy contracting firm
Experience supporting project planning, financial tracking, and business development
Understanding of energy performance contracting and sustainability initiatives
Professional skills in communication, analysis, and project coordination
