About this Position
The Electric Program Coordinator coordinates events, activities, and training for Edmond Electric. In doing so, they will work closely with the director to ensure activities are as beneficial as possible for Edmond's Electric Department. This position works an 8-5 schedule Monday through Friday, but will occasionally work weekends and after-hours for events.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- General knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college
- 3 years of related experience and/or training
- Event planning or public relations experience preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and organize community events (including budgeting, contracting, scheduling, and advertising)
- Coordinate staff and volunteers for set-up and tear-down of events
- Recruit and supervise volunteers to represent Edmond Electric at functions
- Coordinate with the director to develop specific advertising avenues
- Promote events, programs, and facts through social media, print, digital media, and radio
- Maintain and update event materials as needed
- Collaborate with event organizers, citizens, and City personnel
- Develop project budgets, monitor expenditures, and track event finances
- Coordinate onsite training opportunities with partnering energy agencies
- Track and document training for multiple departments
- Support Edmond Electric staff
Necessary Skills
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
