Construction Management Internship

(Summer 2026 or Academic-Year Part-Time)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Construction Management Intern to join our project teams and gain hands-on experience in commercial, residential, or civil construction projects. This paid internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field who want real-world exposure to the full project lifecycle—from pre-construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily field operations and office tasks
  • Review and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and shop drawings
  • Help maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Participate in jobsite safety walks, toolbox talks, and OSHA compliance documentation
  • Support cost tracking, quantity take-offs, and procurement activities
  • Attend owner/architect/contractor (OAC) meetings and take meeting minutes
  • Assist with quality control inspections and punch-list creation
  • Update project documentation (daily reports, as-built drawings, photo logs)
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers as directed
  • Perform basic material quantity surveys and labor productivity tracking

Learning Opportunities

  • Shadow estimating, scheduling, and project engineering functions
  • Exposure to LEED/green building practices (if applicable to projects)
  • Training on Procore, Bluebeam Revu, PlanGrid, or similar construction software
  • Site visits to active projects (high-rise, healthcare, infrastructure, etc.)
  • Potential to earn OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with scheduling or BIM software is a plus
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (most positions require travel to jobsites)
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments; comfortable wearing PPE and walking active construction sites
  • Enthusiasm for the construction industry and a strong work ethic

Position Details

  • Duration: 10–12 weeks (Summer) or part-time during academic year
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hrs./week) in summer; 15–20 hrs./week possible during school year
  • Compensation: $18–$25/hour (depending on year in school and location)
  • Locations: [City/State] – multiple project sites within the region
