Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Computer Science Intern to support our engineering and technology teams. This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to real tools and internal systems that support transportation and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with engineers, gaining practical experience in software development and computational engineering.  This role is a 3-month, part-time position located in New York, NY. Please note that this is an unpaid internship. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain engineering support. Tools using MATLAB, Python, or other languages. 
  • Build scripts and automation workflows to streamline engineering processes. 
  • Assist with data analysis, modeling, and simulation tasks. 
  • Contribute to web-based or backend applications used in project workflows. 
  • Help integrate AI/ML, optimization, or data-processing capabilities into internal tools. 
  • Troubleshoot, test, and refine computational models and utilities. 
  • Participate in code reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Proficiency in MATLAB (scripting, data processing, or modeling). 
  • Proficiency in at least one other programming language (Python, JavaScript, Java, etc.) 
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software fundamentals. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
