Jr Researcher

JOB SCOPE:

We are seeking dedicated and innovative applicants to join our New Applications Research (NAR) division within Corporate R&D. This position is based at the De Nora Tech research facilities in Concord, Ohio, approximately 30 minutes east of downtown Cleveland.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the design, development and scale up of new catalytic materials, coatings, and electrode solutions and related chemical processes for emerging industrial electrochemical applications.
  • Work within interdisciplinary teams to create new projects and contribute to ongoing R&D programs in the New Applications space
  • Present research results internally to project managers and De Nora Leadership
  • Use of Excel and other appropriate software for data analysis and management.
  • Actively participate in EH&S and 5S related laboratory activities.
  • Travel up to 5%, including international

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

A successful candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, capable of utilizing their scientific background and creativity to find solutions to technical challenges within a dynamic and fast-paced industrial research environment. Ideally, the candidate should have all the following qualifications:

  • B.S/M.S in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Material Science, or related field with a focus on electrochemistry with 0-3 years’ experience in R&D environment.
  • Prior experience or classwork in the field of electrochemistry.
  • Strong desire and aptitude to work in a sophisticated, hands-on lab environment with a strong safety ethic
  • Basic familiarity with common laboratory process equipment/instrumentation; fluency and aptitude for learning and using technical software for instruments for data analysis.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an efficient and timely manner with strong organization and communication skills.
