Public Relations/Communications Internship Program

Are you a college junior or senior with a passion for PR, communications, marketing, event planning, or graphic design? Colette Phillips Communications, Inc. & Get Konnected! invite you to join our team for a unique internship experience to gain hands-on experience while making a meaningful impact. We're seeking individuals with a passion for purpose-driven work, ready to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of communications. 

Our ideal Intern is detail-oriented, responsive, organized, flexible, and willing to learn self-starter with an enthusiastic, highly motivated, positive attitude. This person can balance critical research and thought leadership work with administrative tasks and ad-hoc requests from the CEO and team members, with an eye towards the big picture and a commitment to results. A passion to drive diversity, equity and inclusion, social justice, and social impact projects is a must.
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled as an upperclassman undergraduate student (ambitious freshmen and sophomores welcomed)
  • MUST have a solid foundation in communications, with an understanding of marketing, PR, social media, and corporate strategy.
  • Excellent facility with research and strategy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin, and design software (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; graphic design and editing skills are a plus!
  • Experience in administrative support, project management, previous internship in communications, public relations, social media, or journalism a plus.
  • Commitment to social justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Public Relations Intern, you will collaborate closely with our team to support critical firm initiatives, including thought leadership, research, and community engagement. From managing social media blogs to assisting with strategic client projects, you'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.  

Tasks may include:

  • Creating lists, conducting research, and developing strategies
  • Writing pitch letters, press releases, and other press materials
  • Assisting with managing Get Konnected! community events and initiatives
  • Advancing our social media presence
  • Contributing to content creation, including writing and editing
  • Supporting the CEO and team members with administrative tasks and ad-hoc requests
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and digital tools to optimize efficiency

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

  • This internship is unpaid and offers college credit.
  • A minimum time commitment of 12- 16 hours/week in-office for 3 months required.

  • Daily interaction with the company CEO and exposure to Get Konnected! events
  • Potential consideration for permanent positions upon graduation should a permanent position become available.

Hybrid work model: combination of in-office and remote work; opportunity to work events on occasion

  • On-site cafeteria

Public transportation: The Schrafft's Center is within walking distance to the Sullivan Square Station off of the orange line. The Schrafft’s Center also has a free shuttle that will pick up and drop off from the station to our office.
