About LL & Wendell / Aqua-Land Aquarium Service Company

Aqua-Land is creating Southern California’s largest luxury tropical fish experience — combining a modern aquarium retail store with a tropical café, mini theater, library, and educational spaces for families.
Our mission is to inspire marine conservation and provide students and emerging professionals a space to learn, grow, and explore career paths in aquatic sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain freshwater and saltwater aquariums, coral systems, plants, and invertebrates

     
  • Assist with coral propagation, livestock health, and system operations

     
  • (Management roles only) Hire, schedule, and support team members

     
  • Help manage inventory, ordering, and loss prevention

     
  • Provide customer service and support conservation-focused education

     
  • Participate in occasional in-store video content for social media outreach

     

 

 

Requirements

(Students actively working toward their degree are encouraged to apply)

  • Current major or degree in Marine Biology, Aquatic Science, Environmental Science, or related field

     
  • Foundational knowledge of reef systems, water chemistry, corals, freshwater plants, or general aquarium care

     
  • Ability or willingness to learn advanced reef equipment (Apex preferred)

     
  • Comfortable communicating with guests and appearing in occasional video content

     
  • Basic computer and social media familiarity

     
  • Must pass a background check

     

 

 

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in aquarium retail, research labs, aquaculture facilities, or public aquariums

     
  • Scuba certification or marine fieldwork experience

     
  • Knowledge of coral taxonomy or reef species identification

     
  • Experience mentoring others in aquatic science

Compensation

  • Manager: $50K–$60K/year

     
  • Assistant Manager: $50K–$55K/year

     
  • Sales Associate: $48K/year

     
  • Internships: Class credit with potential to transition into paid roles
