Art Teacher

Annual salary per the KEA Master Agreement

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Michigan Teaching Certificate with one of the following endorsements:
    • Art Education (LX)
    • Visual Arts Education (LQ)
    • Visual Arts Specialist (LZ)
    • Fine Arts (OX) - will also be considered
    • Candidates with additional endorsements are preferred

Skills & Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate will:

  • Use creative instructional strategies and best practices to foster student engagement
  • Integrate technology, literature, and writing into art instruction
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Develop classroom-based interventions and monitor student progress
  • Evaluate student growth using a variety of assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate effectively with colleagues
