Role Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Localization Project Coordinator to support an ongoing film and television localization initiative. This role focuses on coordinating transcription and translation of international content—typically into English—while managing teams of 10–20 linguists per language. You’ll facilitate communication through Slack and other tools, monitor deadlines, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure projects meet the quality expectations of both USTC and the client.
Success in this role requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain smooth operations in a fast-moving environment with evolving client requirements.
Critical Qualifications (Required)
Strong project coordination skills, including resource organization, timeline management, and multitasking.
Skilled in navigating competing deadlines, renegotiating expectations, and holding vendors accountable while maintaining strong relationships.
Comfortable giving constructive feedback and resolving challenges with empathy and professionalism.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with clients, linguists, and internal teams.
Attention to detail and time management to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Experience ensuring consistency, accuracy, and formatting compliance across multilingual deliverables.
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose missing segments, timing issues, or file-format problems.
Experience with Slack-based workflows, Google Suite, Excel/Sheets, or similar workplace software.
Quick learner with the flexibility to adapt to client tools, workflows, and expectations.
Ideal Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience working with AI-assisted transcription or translation tools (e.g., Deepdub, ElevenLabs, Whisper, Subtitle Edit, or similar).
Comfortable acting as a bridge between AI workflows and human linguists.
Proficiency with technology, project management platforms, and/or video editing software.
Knowledge of additional languages—especially Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, or Tamil.
Interest in global media, international film/TV production, or localization workflows.
Willingness to frequently support urgent client needs across varied time zones.
Success Indicators
Proactive communication that keeps linguists and stakeholders aligned.
Smooth and organized daily operations with clear visibility into project status.
Reliable on-time delivery with “zero-surprise” outcomes for the client.
Ability to anticipate issues early and recommend solutions before they affect delivery.
