Full Description

  • The Accountant, in collaboration with the Controller and other management will assist the organization with accounting, payroll, human resources duties and overall office functions.  These duties will be consistent with those of a beer/beverage distribution company.

Responsibilities

  • General Accounting
    • Involved in Accounts Payable including accruals and disbursements
    • Involved in General Ledger and monthly journal entries and account maintenance 
    • Involved in monthly reconciliation of asset and liability accounts through schedules/worksheets
    • Involved in maintaining company fixed asset listing to ensure proper record keeping
    • Verifying invoice pricing through supplier contracts
    • Professionally correspond with suppliers and outside venders regarding claims and receivables
    • Help prepare Yearend reports for accounting review with outside financial teams
    • Perform monthly and quarterly tax reporting (State Sales Tax, CAT calculations, Excise Tax, etc)
  • Payroll, Human Resources
    • Involved in understanding the company’s payroll system
      • Review and interpret yearend W-2’s, 1095, and 941’s
    • Involved in understanding human resources duties and recordkeeping
      • Including FMLA, OSHA reporting and BWC procedures
      • Assist with benefit administration as needed
    • Maintain 401K audit information throughout year and at year end.

Qualifications

  • MUST Bachelor’s degree (major in Accounting is preferred)
  • MUST Strong mathematic skills
  • MUST Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • MUST Solid understanding of MicroSoft Office
  • Knowledge of Payroll processing is a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures
  • 1-3+ years of payroll and/or accounting experience
