Associate Pastor Administration
La Habra Christian Church is looking for an Associate Pastor with an emphasis in Administration. The Associate Pastor enables the La Habra Christian Church (LHCC) staff and church body to minister more effectively and efficiently by leading and overseeing the operational and structural aspects of the church. These include human resources, financial systems, campus operations, information systems, technical systems, legal and administrative support, risk mitigation, and safeguards.
Responsibilities
Ministry Specific (80-90%)
General Administration:
Oversee church office management:
• Manage and purchase office supplies
• Manage picking up mail from post office
• Manage church print staples, i.e., giving envelopes, connection cards
Official church records maintenance
• Take record of Sunday attendance
• Keep CA and Federal non-profit documents
Church-wide database
• Manage Planning Center - membership and visitor database
Church-wide policy development
Financial and legal reviews
• Manage legacy giving information, i.e., wills, trusts, etc.
Contracts
• Prepare contracts for facility rentals, i.e., weddings, preschool, etc.
Finances:
In partnership with the Finance Personnel
• Oversee accounting functions including periodic statements, payables, receivables, donations, inventory, payroll, annual budget development, and record keeping.
Campus Operations:
In partnership with the Senior Pastor, Security Team, and Janitorial Services, oversee all aspects of campus operations.
• Design and maintain weekly printing of Sunday bulletins/inserts
• Supervise weekly cleaning
• Manage purchase of kitchen supplies
• Maintain copy machine
• Maintain website and social media
• Manage Sparkletts water delivery
• Design and manage promotional materials, i.e., welcome bag items, acrylic displays
• Act as liaison between La Habra Christian Church and La Habra Heights Montessori Academy
Oversight would include the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures and capital asset management.
• Propose and manage improvements (indoor and outdoor)
• Manage facility repairs
• Supervise HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs
• Supervise Freezer/Ref repairs for Benevolence ministry
• Schedule annual backflow testing
• Manage storage container
In addition, oversee safety & security, property and liability insurance, and risk management programs.
• Manage current insurance provider - Church & Casualty
• Schedule brush clearing to meet Fire Dept. regulations in the summer
• Schedule septic tank disposal at least once a year
• Perform online background checks for staff and volunteers
Information Systems
Oversee all aspects of the computing environment including network administration, hardware/software selection and implementation, database development, and user support and orientation.
Other Ministry
Exercising the gift of administration is one of the vital ministries in any church. While the essence of this position is the support of program ministries, other ministries are also encouraged as time, opportunity and calling converge.
• Support Benevolence ministry.
• Help facilitate yearly church events, i.e., Bring a Friend Sunday, Volunteer Appreciation, Mother’s Day Luncheon, Service at the Park, Men’s Breakfast, Family Camp, Leadership Retreat, international missions.
There are also opportunities to preach the Sunday message, lead a growth group, and plan events.

Other duties as assigned including General Expectations for Ministerial Staff.
Approx. 40 hrs onsite (flexible, fulltime):
Tuesday 9:30am – 5:30pm (8 hrs)
Wednesday 9:30am – 5:30pm (8 hrs)
Thursday 9:30am – 5:30pm (8 hrs)
Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm (8 hrs)
Sunday 8:00am – 4:00pm (8 hrs)
for part-time applicants, 20 hours discussed with Senior Pastor.
Desirable Skills and Qualities:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· Must have a Master’s degree from an accredited seminary or pursuing a degree
· Affirm a clear call to serve in the local church.
· Willingness to seek God’s direction in ministry
· A love for God and a desire to be used by Him
· Willingness to think creatively
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Ability to work well with people of all ages
· Ability to take direction and listen
· Openness to work as a part of a team
· Ability to manage interruptions during the work day
· A sense of humor

Salary
40 hrs/week @ $20/hr ($41,600/yr) or DOE
20 hrs/week @$20/hr ($20,800/yr) or DOE

All applicants will be reviewed by a committee consisting of church leaders. Applications, interviews, letters of recommendation, personality inventory, and career goals will all play a part in the final recommendations to the elders. Final selection will be made by the senior pastor.
