Construction Management Intern

The Scalo Companies include seven companies rooted in the construction field: Burns and Scalo Roofing, Co. (Locations in PA and OH), Cuddy Roofing, Scalo Solar, Burns & Scalo Roof Asset Management, NexGen Design Systems, Inc., and Scalo Incorporated.

Reporting to the Commercial Roofing Project Manager, the Construction Management Intern will be responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the Burns & Scalo Sales and Operations team. 

Responsibilities:

• Attend Project Preconstruction, Kick-off meetings to become familiar with projects
• Walk project site to assist with project logistics and provide reports of existing conditions including such conditions as pavement, landscaping, signage, lighting, electrical equipment, traffic requirements, building conditions, dumpster enclosures, fencing, storage etc. 
• Communicate timeline changes and any new information to Field Supervisor and Project Manager
• Assist Field Supervisor with coordinating logistics of deliveries, crane set up, trash removal 
• Establish and maintain communication between all trades on job site 
• Assist with just in time planning/scheduling around project changes/weather etc.
• Assist Project Manager with in-progress work order changes, purchase orders, staffing, project close-outs, etc. 
• Assist the Operations team with special projects and assignments as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be able to work between 20-40 hours a week between 8 AM and 5 PM

Qualifications:

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a business field
• Possess strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team effectively
• Possess a strong sense of accountability and high work standards
