POSITION: Seasonal Construction Intern - Summer 2026
LOCATION: Central Area Construction located in Salt Lake City
POSITION SUMMARY: Interns will be mentored by project managers and will assist these project managers in all aspects of construction work.

DUTIES:
Assist project managers in bidding, planning, and executing the work on various construction projects.
Projects will include asphalt paving, concrete paving, micro-surfacing, chip seal, excavation grading, and utility work.
Position may require night work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Each applicant should be enrolled in an accredited civil engineering or construction management program at a sophomore level or higher.
Applicants should demonstrate effective communication and organization skills and the ability to quickly learn and understand the technical aspects of construction projects.
Ability to learn and understand plans, specifications, schedules, estimates, quantity calculations, and accounting procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Sitting: 70% of the time.
Standing: 30% of the time.
Driving: Local driving/travel required 5% of time.
Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head.
Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab, and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder often.
Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate well with vendors, team members, and supervisors to gather information, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
Working Conditions: 30% of the time will be spent working outside in the elements.
Safety: Use of PPE required. Some use of safety harnesses when working at various heights. Depending on projects, the possibility of using various power hand tools is based on the candidate's experience.
