UX Design Intern (Work-Study Only)
Note: This position is only open to students who qualify for federal or state work-study.
As a UX Design Intern at Folio, you will help design intuitive, student-centered experiences for tools that support career discovery, internship matching, and professional growth. You will work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to create wireframes, user flows, and interface concepts that make Folio’s platform clear, accessible, and engaging for students nationwide.
This role is ideal for students studying UX design, human computer interaction, digital media, or related fields who want practical design experience in a mission-driven technology environment.
What You’ll Do
Contribute to user research, feedback synthesis, and experience mapping.
Help refine interface layouts, interaction patterns, and visual styles.
Support usability testing efforts and document user insights.
Assist with creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma or similar platforms.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, clear, and aligned with platform goals.

Qualifications
Must be eligible for federal or state work-study funding.
Currently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
Strong sense of visual organization, layout, and user empathy.
Comfort incorporating feedback and working collaboratively across teams.
Interest in designing for education, accessibility, and student success.
