Problem Management Plus (PM+) Mental Health Support Program
Position Type: Part-Time (Average 6 hours per week)
Duration: November 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026
Location: College of Public Health, 145 N Riverside Drive, Iowa City, IA 52242
Reports To: Dr. Jonathan Platt and PM+ Leadership Team
Program Background
PM+ (Problem Management Plus) is a peer-led mental health support program serving refugees and displaced populations in Iowa. The program provides evidence-based, culturally sensitive mental health support through trained peer facilitators who share lived experiences with the communities they serve.
Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator will develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase awareness of PM+ services.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the PM+ Team to create an overall strategy for our PM+ message, creating a calendar for content to be shared
- Post content which has already been produced for multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Design or coordinate creation of graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
- Promote and track engagement metrics through reports
- Network on social media platforms to cross promote immigrant and mental health issues
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with social media platforms, experience with managing social media for organizations preferred.
- Positive interest in promoting refugee and immigrant wellbeing.
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of program participants.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Compensation
$15 hourly rate
This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.
