1. Role Overview

We are partnering with a frontier AI lab to source accomplished writers — including novelists, journalists, poets, essayists, and short story authors — to support a short-term generative AI research initiative. Freelancers will contribute their expertise to train and evaluate large language models, helping shape the future of AI writing systems. This is a part-time, remote opportunity suited for professionals across both fiction and nonfiction domains.

3. Ideal Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience writing fiction or nonfiction, including novels, poetry, short stories, essays, or journalistic pieces

Portfolio includes published work in respected outlets or presses (e.g., The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The New York Times, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House)

Deep familiarity with storytelling techniques, narrative structure, voice, and genre conventions

Strong editorial judgment and ability to analyze writing for quality, style, and coherence

Comfortable working independently and asynchronously
