Nonprofit Internship
JOB PURPOSE
To provide interns with engaging, valuable experience within our organization and gain an understanding of how a nonprofit organization operates daily.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Each program includes but is not limited to the following tasks and requirements. Please note on your application of any special interests. The intern position may assist each team with the following responsibilities:
DEVELOPMENT TEAM
- Create & organize assets for Employee Giving Campaigns, including online Employee Giving campaign donation pages for 100+ companies
- Solicit in-kind donations for stewardship incentives
- Research potential companies, foundations and individual donors
- Assist in the executionof donor solicitation and stewardship, including the distribution of OKCityCards, Step-Up Artwork and thank you letters
OPERATIONS TEAM
- Prepare Boardof Director meeting materials
- Assist with data entry in Allied Arts CRM, Salesforce
- Research the financial health and review assets of nonprofit grant candidates, including Form 990s, Charitable Registration Statuses, and others as seen fit.
- Organize office inventory
OUTREACH & EVENTS TEAM
- Renew and recruit OKCityCard partners
- Create & organize assets for the OKCityCard program, including:
- OKCityCard website
- OKCityCard forms, posters, and renewal letters/emails
- Delivery of OKCityCard packets
- Solicit and organize silent auction items for Allied Arts annual fundraiser, ARTini
- Assist in writing event permits, thank you notes, and other assets as needed
- Tracking event attendance and preparing guest nametags
- Set-up and strike events
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Skills of ALL Interns
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects while staying organized.
- Run Errands: Deliver letters,invitations, artwork, pick up auction items,etc.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently (with guidance), and take initiative.
- Excellent organization, communication, writing and problem-solving skills.
- Represent Allied Arts at non-profit fairs & booths.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Work well with staff, vendors, volunteers and grantees.
- Regular and predictable attendance. Emergencies and sick days may be excused, but we treat internships like a job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to follow through, handle projects responsibly and keep appropriate staff informed of project updates and progress.
- Professionally answer and transfer phone calls.
- Must be available to attend events (evenings flexible).
- HAVE FUN and learn every aspect of how a nonprofit organization operates.
