Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Mortgage Loan Officer Trainee to join our team. This role offers a structured pathway into the mortgage finance profession, combining formal training, hands-on learning, and real pipeline experience. Trainees gain exposure to the full mortgage lifecycle—from application to closing—while supporting seasoned Loan Officers and learning the skills required to become licensed and productive.

Responsibilities

Assist Loan Officers with new loan applications, client communication, and documentation requirements

Review and complete borrower applications (1003) and verify accuracy

Collect, organize, and submit documentation to processing and underwriting

Learn to run automated underwriting systems (DU/LP) and interpret findings

Shadow Loan Officers during client calls and loan strategy discussions

Update pipeline milestones and follow up with borrowers and team members

Participate in training on loan products, guidelines, compliance, and sales techniques

Provide high-quality customer service throughout the loan process

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Full-time, on-site position in Melville, NY

Willingness to obtain NMLS license (company supported)

Compensation

Base Salary: $45,000–$55,000

Bonus opportunities after licensing and production milestones
